Frozen Fresh Petfood opt for WMS in the cloud

06 Sep 2018

Frozen Fresh Petfood, part of the LIPA Family, are taking action to expand their service provision with a new modern cold store as well as extending the use of their warehouse to take in 3PL activities. The cold store were looking for a Warehouse Management System for their VAL production and warehouse processes, with the aim of working in a structured manner right from the outset. Following a recommendation from a satisfied sector colleague the company settled on software house Elevate-IT and their sector-specific solution for chilled and frozen logistics, BVBVK Dynamics.

As one of the latest additions to the LIPA family, Frozen Fresh Petfood specialise in the production of fresh and frozen mixes for the pet food industry. As well as storing their own production stock including VAL production, the cold store in Olen also provides storage services for third parties. Elevate-IT's BVBVK Dynamics has proved to be the ideal solution here. It was important not only that the existing cold store processes were supported, the system also had to be able to deal with future needs and increasingly complex flows. This is all made possible by the Microsoft Dynamics technology the software platform is based on. Working with a sector-wide product which can be configured in line with the needs of individual clients means that the Elevate-IT client base is always up-to-date, while new processes can be implemented with ease. With this new investment Frozen Fresh Petfood have raised their profile as a player to be taken seriously in the chilled and frozen sector.

A new business with an eye to the future

Any new business wants to survive and prosper in the longer term, and Frozen Fresh Petfood is no exception. With their recently expanded range of services the business is growing apace, but their chosen software solution can deal with any eventuality. With that taken care of and with implementation in the cloud, the cold store business can concentrate on their service provision activities. Nick Meylemans: "Service provision in the area of chilled and frozen products for third parties calls for a specific approach and brings its own unique challenges. What we needed was a flexible system capable of handling all that. We are now able to upscale the number of users in the cloud without difficulty and any new processes can quickly be implemented. Van Soest Coldstores' recommendation of the Elevate-IT software package certainly inspired confidence."
