Change the folder setup in your solution with this new functionality

As a logistics service provider, you must maintain your digital dossiers as complete a possible. Whether it is a picture of the received pallet in your warehouse or a POD from one of your drivers, you regularly add attachments to the documents in your system. In 3PL Dynamics, you can link these attachments in different ways. For example, you can use Document Capture, the App Platform or you can drag attachments to the available folders. Before, you could only use standard folders in the system. However, thanks to new functionality, you can rename these folders and you can expand the number of folders from five to ten. How? With the help of this blog, you can easily change the folder setup in your solution.

Adjust folder setup

With the standard folder setup, you can use the folders Internal, Extarnal, Photos, CMR and MISC. But what do you do when these folders do not suffice? Or what if you use completely different terms in your organization? In that case, you can simply adjust the folders, to make the titles cohere with your processes. For example, do you want to add a folder ‘POD’? No problem. Learn how to setup folders yourself with the help of the video from our partner Boltrics below.

The use of the folder setup

In the video, you can see how to create (multiple) folder setups, and even how to set up the folders per status. In this way, you can use the functionality on all entities which use a status flow. You can easily set up different folders for documents like receipt or shipments, and for related statuses. For example, you can create a specific folder for a customs status. Besides, it is possible to set up folders on master data as the table ‘Customer’.

Automatically assign folders

As you have seen in the video, the standard folders in 3PL Dynamics contain an Object-ID. It is possible to use this ID, in order to automatically add folders as an attachment to an email. Or to link this folder to the web portal. For example, the folder CMR (or POD in the video) is used to link POD’s. This folder receives Object-ID ’30’, and is then automatically attached to your invoices. You will have to take these settings into consideration when setting up new folders.
